Piezoelectric Accelerometer Available In Two Dynamic Ranges

Nov. 22, 2013
Compact, plug-and-play piezoelectric accelerometer is available in two dynamic ranges, ±40 g and ±160 g, and can be used in either an X- or Z-axis configuration.

A compact, plug-and-play piezoelectric accelerometer from Measurement Specialties, the Model 8101, is designed for general purpose vibration measurement. The linear accelerometer is available in two dynamic ranges, ±40 g and ±160 g, and can be used in two measurement directions, either an X- or Z-axis configuration. It is ideally suited for asset, impact and machine health monitoring as well as data loggers, system wake-up switches and product R&D. Featuring stable piezo-ceramic crystals in shear mode with low base strain sensitivity and a flat frequency response across a 6,000 Hz bandwidth, the accelerometer is also fully potted for an environmentally sealed IP65 construction that broadens it’s range of test & measurement applications. Other technical specifications include an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC, a shock limit of 2,000 g’s, and an excitation voltage range of 7 to 30 Vdc. Pricing and delivery for the Model 8101 piezoelectric accelerometer is dependent upon quantity ordered.
