With its maximum glass length of 10.5 and overall lead length of 34.5 mm, Standex-Meder’s KSK-1A35/1 reed switch provides the extra sensitivity demanded by various line or high-voltage applications. Operating sensitivity ranges from 20 to 34 ampere-turns (AT), while switching voltage reaches up to 1000 V of direct or alternating current. The hermetically sealed device operates in temperatures ranging from ‒40 to 125°C. Surface-mount leads enable paddle orientation and enhance surface-mount behavior. Ruthenium contacts boost the switch’s lifetime, and come in form 1A (single-pole, single-throw or SPST; normally open contact) and center gap—typical operating and release times are 0.5 and 0.2 ms, respectively. The REACH- and RoHS-compliant switch, which will operate for millions of cycles, consumes no power and gives off zero emissions. Applications include an assortment of sensors, such as proximity, presence, rotation, speed, liquid level, and others within the aerospace, automotive, household, medical, and telecommunications industries.
