Tailored for the operating characteristics of electronic motor controllers, the company’s Class J fuses reportedly exhibit high-speed performance with low let-through energy, or I2t, and qualify as approved branch circuit protection devices under National Electrical Code requirements. The fuses are capable of clearing overloads down to 135% of their rating and coordinate with most drives and soft-starters. They are also said to work seamlessly with existing Class J fuse blocks and holders. Increased IP-20 grade, finger-safe protection can be had when using the new fuses with the company’s ULTRASAFE fuse holders. Current ratings range from 15A to 600A with a voltage rating of 600 Vac and 500 Vdc and an interrupt rating of 200 kA. Both ferrule and blade configurations are available.
