By combining gearbox and motor within a single housing, the new MP-Series Integrated Gear Motors occupy 40% less space and weigh 25% less than conventional motor and gearbox packages. This series of gear motors is compatible with the Ultra family of servo drives and is part of the Kinetix integrated motion control line of products that includes the ControlLogix controller and SERCOS interface module, among others. The MP-Series suits applications such as material handling, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and control systems for amusement park entertainment. The compact, lightweight, integrated design of the MP-Series allows the new motors to achieve higher torque output than traditional non-integrated systems. While typical motor and gearbox combinations operate at 50% efficiency, the MP-Series motors reach 80% efficiency. The motors are available for both 230V and 460V applications, with peak torque ratings of up to 300 Nm. Three frame sizes with four gear ratios per frame are available.
