Stating torque levels twice that of comparable motor/gear-head combos, the type CG dc gearmotors, groomed for operation with the 48R-AC inverter-duty, and 42A permanent magnet dc motors, deliver up to 1,000 lb.-in. of torque. The motor and gear head are assembled as a single unit to eliminate leaks at the seal and misalignment between motor and gear head. The component features a 3-stage, selectively hardened gearing cluster that is permanently lubricated. Its solid aluminum-cast body and extra heavy-duty bearings and seals ensure performance in the toughest applications. As the gear head is not vented, the gearmotors can be mounted in virtually any position via a face-mounting flange. The drive shaft measures 1" in diameter, said to be almost twice as large as comparable components. BODINE ELECTRIC CO., Chicago, IL. (800) 726-3463.
