The Navigator MC2800 series of multiple-motor-type motion processors lets users control brushed and brushless servo motors in one chip set. This chip set supports sinusoidal commutation of two- or three-phase brushless motors , along with positioning and velocity control of brushed servo motors. With this motion processor, users can select any axis to be brushed or brushless (for two and four axes). Two-axis (MC2820) and four-axis (MC2840) configurations are available.

These devices consist of a 132-pin processor and a 100-pin logic device, providing the ability to offload resource-intensive motion-control functions from the application's host processor. An instruction set supports over 130 commands while providing flexibility and versatility during application programming. The motion processor also supports user-selectable profiling modes, such as S-curve, trapezoidal, velocity contouring, and electronic gearing. The devices accept input parameters like position, velocity, and acceleration from the host. They also generate a corresponding trajectory.

Samples and production quantities are available now. OEM quantities cost $69 per unit.
