Designed for motor-control applications, a line of braking resistors incorporates a unique thick-film-on-steel technology said to yield a compact, rugged device that offers precise control. Replacing traditional wire-wound components, the resistors feature a power density of 100W/cm2 with dielectric ratings from 2,400 Vac and 3,500 Vdc. Operating temperature range is up to 400ûC and fusing elements can be added for additional surge and over-temperature protection. Temperature sensors or thermistors may also be added to give system access to closed-loop feedback controls. IRC INC., Boone, NC. (828) 264-8861.
