The Model 510 mechanical encoder is designed to replace less precise potentiometers and more costly optical encoders in consumer and light industrial applications. These include volume, motor, and motor controls. Precision digital output is produced by a special position sensing element available with a two-bit gray code in options of 4, 6 or 9 cycles per revolution or 16, 24 or 36 detents per revolution, and a four-bit gray code absolute encoder with 16 positions. Two-bit gray code encoders are also available without detents at up to 128 ppr. Options include mounting brackets, custom shaft lengths, lead configurations, and connectors.
