Designed to be seamlessly integrated into SoCs developed for next-generation digital consumer products and interactive video games, the TM32-A core is said to be especially adept at performing complicated, high-speed media processing tasks, such as coding and decoding MPEG video streams in real-time and multiplexing and demultiplexing broadcast streams. Produced using a 0.13-m low-voltage process, the embedded media processing core operates at 350 MHz (typ.) and can handle more than 7 giga operations/s. The core is supported by a number of tools, including what is said to be an efficient method for embedding the IP into SoCs. TRIMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES INC., Milpitas, CA. (408) 922-5573.
