The RE08 series motors incorporate rare earth magnets in a package measuring just 8 mm in diameter and 16 mm in length. The magnets are said to maximize available torque, and a patented rhombic moving-coil design promises long life, low electrical noise, fast acceleration, and high efficiency. The motor is rated at 0.5W and delivers a maximum continuous torque up to 0.52 mNm (0.07 oz.-in.). Several different windings are available to match the desired speed with available voltage. Maximum efficiency is 67%, depending on the winding, and ambient temperature range is from -20°C to +65°C. Matching gearheads are also available with ratios ranging from 3.9:1 up to 854:1, capable of delivering up to 60 mNm (8.5 oz.-in.) of intermittent torque. Encoders are also available.
