Motorola has signed an agreement to license The Astonishing Tribe's (TAT's) Cascades interface to incorporate into the user interface framework of some of its mobile devices. TAT Cascades is a user-interface (UI) technology that lets designers create a variety of application UIs with less effort and reduced lead times. The UIs are easily customized for different market target segments or device types. Elizabeth J. Altman, vice president of strategy and business development for Motorola, said a device's interface plays an important role in user experience. "The user interface has become one of the most critical and strategic differentiators in the mobile industry," Charlotta Falvin, CEO of Sweden-based TAT, said in a statement. "The ability to create attractive and customizable user interfaces with limited efforts will be of great importance to maintain competitiveness in the mobile space going forward."
