Claiming to surpass the performance of the company's larger permanent-magnet stepper motors, the 55M is a 7.5° motor that measures 55 mm x 27 mm and weighs 9.5 oz. This permanent-magnet steeper motor is capable of producing 176.5 mNm (25 oz./in.) of pull-out torque when driven with a 24-vdc chopper drive.
The 55M is available in both unipolar and bipolar versions and is offered in a standard, widely accepted frame-size configuration. These features, it is claimed, make this motor ideal for a wide range of applications, especially when open-loop positioning is needed.
Other features include a 4.8-W input power per winding, 251- nMn minimumum holding torque, and permanently lubricated bearings.
