Repositioned bearings and improved rotor balance has reduced the noise levels and increased the service life of both versions of the 22BC 22-mm brushless motors. In addition, the motors' magnetic circuit has also been improved, increasing the motor constant (Kt) of the 50W (long) model by 40%. The 15W (short) model is available with built-in drive electronics, allowing it to be driven like a brush DC motor, but with the benefits of brushless technology. Applications where high speed and/or long life are essential are expected to benefit most from the new motors, with the long model eyeing use in products such as dental and other hand tools and the short model targeting products such as medical respirators and pumps and small actuators for aerospace applications.
