The LO-COG Series 8690 of 26-mm brush-commutated DC motors are available in 1.798'', 1.923'' and 2.173'' lengths and provide continuous torque output up to 3.17 oz.-in., peak torque up to 20 oz.-in., and speeds up to 9,000 rpm. With resin-impregnated windings and 7-slot skewed armatures, the motors aim to reduce cogging. Described as smooth-running and quiet, the iron core motors serve as an alternative to coreless products and fit applications such medical and office-automation equipment. The motors's two-pole permanent magnet stators are said to enhance operating performance, and their diamond-turned commutators help prolong brush life. Designed to reduce audible and electrical noise, the cartridge brush assembly also aims to improve brush life by maintaining optimum brush force throughout the life of the motor. The new brush motors can be customized with optical encoders, custom cables, shaft-mounted pulleys and gears, ball bearings, RFI suppression components, and more. PITTMAN, Harleysville, PA.
