Available in two versions for brush or brushless motors, the EPOS 24/1 digital motion controller is capable of position, velocity, and current-mode control. Appropriate for controlling small motors, the unit measures 55 mm x 40 mm x 25 mm and weighs 45g. Communication is via RS-232 or CANopen. Software for CANopen and Windows DLL's are complimentary. Supply voltage ranges from 9 to 24 Vdc, and the controller handles a maximum continuous current of 1A and 2A of peak current. Other features include an efficiency up to 85%, 50 kHz switching frequency, integrated choke, maximum speed of 25,000 rpm for two-pole motors, maximum encoder input frequency of 1 MHz, six digital inputs, two digital outputs, and two analog inputs.
