Measuring 17 mm in diameter and 24 mm high, the AEDA-3200 series incremental encoders are described as a one-size-fits-all-resolutions approach for makers of general-purpose encoders and integrated motor-encoder assemblies. They are said to eliminate the need for different encoder sizes and/or mounting arrangements. For top-down mounting, the AEDA-3200-T series provides resolutions from 2,500 to 20,000 counts per revolution (cpr) and integrate an RS-422 differential line driver for signal-line distances up to 1,200m. Other features include an operating temperature from -40°C to +120°C and a plug-and-play tool that promises to eliminate installation misalignments without the need for assembly fixtures. Available by mid 2005, the AEDA-3200-B series will include bottom-up-mount versions with heights of 12 mm. Available now, price for the 7,500-cpr AEDA-3200-TBK is $43 each/5,000.
