Capable of 10-A continuous and 20-A peak current at up to 80 V, Technosoft’s iPOS8010 BX-CAT controller targets rotary or linear brushless, dc brush, and step motors up to 800 W and 80 V. The device is based on the company’s MotionChip technology. It can operate as a standard EtherCAT drive that accepts the CAN application protocol over EtherCAT (CoE), or as an intelligent drive programmed to execute complex motion profiles directly at drive level using a built-in motion controller and Technosoft Motion Language (TML). The iPOS8010 works with EtherCAT communication cycles down to 200 µs for configurations such as open-loop microstepping or closed-loop control of two- or three-phase steppers, and sinusoidal (FOC) or trapezoidal (Hall-based) brushless-motor control. Features include two safe Torque Off inputs (STO), two feedback devices (dual-loop support), two analog inputs, eight digital inputs, and five digital outputs. Applications include industrial and medical equipment.
