What the company calls a breakthrough for providing simple and universal EMC protection in high frequency designs, the Series 5150 filtered AC inlet performs at frequencies up to 1 GHz and beyond using X2Y filter technology. Formerly known only for EMI protection in dc circuits, X2Y technology combines the X and Y capacitors common to existing line filters into one component, eliminating the leads connecting the capacitors and reducing parasitic impedances. Double shielding between the X2Y filter and filter casing, together with a broad metal flange serves as an alternative for feed-through and multi-stage filters. Additionally, the package supports front- or rear-side mounting and uses the same panel cutout size as a typical AC inlet. Filter variations include types for standard, medical, and industrial applications. SCHURTER INC., Santa Rosa, CA. (800) 848-2600.
