Addressing the need for more secure SCA2 interconnect systems, the LokDown system in the company's SCA2 receptacle line integrates mechanical fasteners in the insulator. These are said to prevent lateral, vertical and rotational movement of the insulator that can result from the rocking action generated in high-torque drive trays and racks. The location and retention of the insulator is also said to reduce the possibility of receptacle misalignment. The components are available with 80 and 40 pins and support both SCSI-3 and Fibre Channel protocols. Other features include staggered contact heights to accommodate hot-plugging and alignment guides. Configurations include: standard-height through-hole; compliant-pin, extended-height through-hole; and compliant-pin receptacles. CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY CORP., Irvine, CA. (949) 855-7887.
