Promising a cost effective and speedy method for interfacing field wiring to PLCs and other control devices, the 39170 series DIN-rail mount interface modules claim to reduce field-wiring time by as much as 50%. They also provide space savings in the area of 60% in comparison to standard DIN rail terminal blocks. The modules support from nine to 50 circuits per module, and offer a choice of connection methods. They are available with fixed or pluggable terminal blocks, and the PLC/controller interface is available with a ribbon cable connector or a D-sub connector. Additionally, the components can be customized at the factory with specific components, such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and LEDs, or special connectors. Typical pricing is less than $1.20 per circuit for modules with 20 to 50 circuits. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL. (630) 969-4550.
