Spiral Springs Enable Power Clamps To Connect 4 AWG To 3/0 Conductors

Sept. 1, 2000
By using spiral spring technology, Series 285 Power Clamp terminal blocks are able to connect conductors ranging from 4 AWG to 3/0 in size and having a current rating of 232A with a rated voltage of 1000V. An 8-mm T-wrench is used to actuate the

By using spiral spring technology, Series 285 Power Clamp terminal blocks are able to connect conductors ranging from 4 AWG to 3/0 in size and having a current rating of 232A with a rated voltage of 1000V. An 8-mm T-wrench is used to actuate the spiral spring. When actuated, the spring is locked in place by a special tab, allowing the installer to use both hands to inser the conductor. Applications for the devices include medium voltage power panels and large conductor control panels.
