Expanding the GbX connector platform is a two-pair connector, suited for designs with tight slot pitch constraints such as blade servers. The component features 27.5 real differential pairs per linear inch to fit into a 15-mm slot pitch. It specifies a 100Ω matched differential impedance and a crosstalk under 5% at a 50 ps second rise time (20% to 80%). The connector’s modular design promises easy configuration in conjunction with low-speed signals, guidance, and power modules. Additionally, its stainless steel rear organizing stiffener and wafer construction accommodates the customization of daughtercard connectors using any combination of the GbX product family. Prices for the two-pair connector ranges from $0.12 to $0.18 per mated signal line in volume for standard differential components. TERADYNE INC., Nashua, NH. (603) 879-3600.
