Solving the drawbacks of dry-blending colorants, flame retardants, additives, and other effects in long-glass-fiber compounds, the LNP Verton Xtreme compound portfolio expands into new territory with one-pellet solutions for enhanced color, flame retardance, and weatherability. The patent-pending technology involves eliminating the need to blend two pellet types, which can lead to separation, settling, and other quality issues. The compounds are available in three grades: XC for extreme color, XFR for extreme flame retardance, and XW for extreme weathering. The XC compound is currently available in nylon base resins while the XFR compound is available in polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resins. The XW compound is based on the company’s Geloy resin, an amorphous terpolymer of acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile resin. For more details, call GE PLASTICS, Pittsfield, MA. (413) 448-7110.
