A new series of 4-leaded, polypropylene, dielectric dc link film capacitors, which also implements low-loss film technology, is designed to ensure long lifetimes and low thermal losses in power applications. AVX Corp.’s FE Series contains over 50 new capacitance/voltage ratings up to 1.2 kV. Eight case sizes are available with 27.5-, 37.5-, and 52.5-mm lead pitch options. Other features include a 550- to 1200-V voltage range, a 3.3- to 75-µF capacitance range, and an operating temperature range of -40 to +100°C. The capacitors are particularly suited for dc power supplies and inverters for solar power, electric drive, and industrial power systems.
