Capable of handling voltages up to 10 kV, the HVC series thick-film, surface-mount chip resistors qualify for employment in a wide range of medical equipment that includes defibrillators, medical imaging systems, neuron stimulators, ECG units, analgesia syringe pumps, and blood transfusion equipment. They are equally comfortable in high-voltage power supplies found in PET scanners, gamma cameras, radiation therapy systems, and X-ray equipment. The components are available with limiting element voltages of 2.5, 5 and 10 kV in 1206, 2010, and 2512 chip sizes, respectively. Resistance values range from 0.1 ohms to 2 Teraohms. Other features include power ratings from 0.3W to 1W at 70°C and an operating temperature range from +55°C to +150°C. Typical pricing is $0.40 to $2.50 each in production volumes.
