The RoHS-compliant Orbcomm Phantom VG antenna, portrayed as a low-profile, rugged wideband VHS and GPS bar-style antenna, exploits field-diversity technology to improve RF performance. Measuring 2.2" x 3" x 12.5", it operates over the Orbcomm band from 137 MHz to 149 MHz and exhibits a VSWR of less than 2:1 at the band edges. The field-diversity technology provides a full spherical radiation pattern that reportedly overcomes nulls and gaps found in conventional whip-style antennas. Due to its size, the antenna can be mounted either vertically or horizontally using screw on bolts or adhesive padding. Additionally, it is available with back or side cable exits. Price is less than $95 each in small quantities. LAIRD TECHNOLOGIES, St. Louis, MO. (800) 843-4556.
