Via additions, the RMCG series sulfur-impervious chip resistors are available in sizes from 0402 up to 2512, in tolerances as low as 1%, and now with resistance values from 1 Ohm to 10 MegaOhms. The components rely on a gold barrier under solderable matte tin plating to protect the inner terminations and prevent any sulfur contamination from occurring. The resistance range expansion makes them more viable in applications such as power supplies that typically use lower values and medical and measurement devices that typically require high resistance values. The RoHS-compliant resistors are available on standard 7" reels with prices ranging $20 per thousand for the 0402 chip size to $200 for the 2512. STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS INC., Raleigh, NC.
