NVIDIA Graces Us with a New CPU and GPU at GTC 2021

There was a veritable flood of GPU announcements at GTC 2021.

NVIDIA’s CTO Jensen Huang has never been known to be quiet and has always been at the center of the GPU Technology Conference (GTC). This year’s online incarnation, open to all, is no differentthe one-hour, 48-minute keynote video was chock full of new announcements. Here are most of them in no particular order:

  • Omniverse – collaboration and simulation cloud platform
  • RTX GPUs – latest desktop and embedded GPUs
  • A10 and A16 GPU – latest data-center GPUs
  • DGX SuperPod – multi-tenant supercomputer
  • Grace CPU – future Arm-based enterprise compute platform
  • BlueField-3 DPU – data-center processing unit
  • DOCA 1.0 SDK – software support for BlueField
  • EGX updates – AI platform for the enterprise
  • Aerial 5G – 5G base-station platform
  • NVIDIA DRIVE Orin – latest auto platform
  • NVIDIA DRIVE Atlan – auto platform built around BlueField
  • Morpheus – AI-driven security-management platform
  • Jarvis – conversational AI framework for real-time speech recognition and translation
  • Maxine – virtual collaboration and content
  • Triton – cloud-based inference
  • CuQuantum SDK – quantum-computing simulation

I earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
