Based on the company's FT232RL USB-to-UART chip, the DLP-IO8-G USB data-acquisition (DAQ) module provides eight channels that can be independently configured to digital I/O, analog input, or temperature mode via a single byte command. It comes with a USB cable with a type A plug and is powered directly from the host USB port. Compatible with both USB 1.1/2.0, the module suits a wide variety of industrial process control and monitoring applications. Measuring 62.7 mm x 22.6 mm, it also suits desktop prototyping and evaluation tasks. Voltage measurements range from 0V to 5V and temperature readings extend from -55°C to 125°C. Digital output mode allows setting low or high, while the input mode can read the high or low state. Device drivers for all popular operating systems are available from the company's website and are royalty free. Single-unit price for the DLP-IO8-G is $ 29.95.
