The members of a new family of EasyFLASH programmable system devices (PSDs) provide an effortless, automated design flow for adding in-system and in-application programmable flash memory, SRAM, and programmable logic to 8-bit CISC microcontroller-based systems. They also supply a single-chip memory subsystem, including the programmable logic for the MCU interface, address decoding, chip selects, and other logic functions.
The largest device in the family, the PSD934F2, has 256 kbytes of flash memory, a second 32-kbyte flash-memory array that allows in-application programming during system operation, 8 kbytes of SRAM, and sufficient programmable logic to implement various logic functions. Meanwhile, the PSD913F1 contains 128 kbytes of flash memory, a second 32-kbyte EEPROM memory array for data storage and MCU-controlled IAP, 2 kbytes of SRAM, and programmable logic. Also, the PSD913F2 is identical to the PSD913F1, except the second ISP memory array is flash-based.
These models are available in 52- or 64-pin PLCCs and PQFPs in 10,000-unit quantities. The −913F2 costs $6.40 each, the -913F1 costs $8.45, and the −934F2 costs $7.67.
