The E2929A and E2922A exerciser/analyzers are designed to help chip and server manufacturers improve their I/O performance. Engineers can use these design verification tools to validate and debug chip-set, server, server clusters, or other designs using PCI-X technology.

The E2929A PCI-X exerciser and analyzer is fully compliant with the 133-MHz PCI-X specification. The new test card—which combines protocol checker, state analyzer, and exerciser capabilities—meets all of today's demands for debugging and evaluating high-end servers and components. Designers, then, can concentrate entirely on their core competencies without spending any time or resources on developing tools to validate PCI-X-based products.

The E2929A single-slot PCI-X exerciser and analyzer features complete PCI-X state analysis, real-time protocol checking, and real-time performance measures. Also, the E2929A offers a fully programmable PCI-X master, target, completer, and requester capabilities. Additional state analysis, protocol error detection, and in-depth cross-bus analysis can be performed by connecting the manufacturer's 16700 logic analyzer with a FuturePlus Systems FS2104 analysis probe.

Meanwhile, the E2922A is a dedicated PCI-X exerciser that provides a fast and predictable way to set up PCI-X traffic and verify PCI-X protocol compliance. It features the same protocol-checking capabilities as the E2929A. And, it is programmed by the C-API.

The various E2929A models range in price from $4100 to $5300. The E2922A PCI-X Target/Master Test Card, which includes a protocol checker, exerciser, PPR, and C-API, costs $11,500.
