Octasic Inc., a leading fabless telecom semiconductor company (www.octasic.com), has announced that Aastra Telecom has selected the company’s OCT6100 echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement chips for their newest conferencing product, the CNX Conference Bridge Appliance. The OCT6100 appeared in the May, 2003 issue of EE Product News.

The Aastra CNX provides a flexible, cost effective solution for small and medium-sized enterprise conferencing requirements. Allowing participants to access a conference via the PSTN, legacy PBXs or VoIP networks, the Aastra CNX uses a simple Web interface for easy management and control. In a single device, the OCT6100 allows Aastra to offer customers industry-leading voice quality in a scalable package that provides conference mixing, acoustic and electrical echo cancellation, automatic gain and level control, dominant speaker selection and adaptive noise reduction.

“When selecting a device to develop our CNX platform around, the Octasic OCT6100 device stood out as a clear winner with field-proven quality,” explained Tomasz Konopka, Aastra’s director of hardware engineering. “The OCT6100 not only provided a cost effective solution, the high level of integration combined with Octasic’s scalability capabilities enabled us fast development with excellent potential for future expansion.”

Fabio Gambacorta, vice-president of business development at Octasic said, “The Aastra system is a great example of how our devices take into account the requirements for today’s competitive equipment vendors, and offer a flexible tailored solution allowing our partners and customers to build a complete system.”
