The VSP2080 is a complete front-end signal processing IC for digital camera applications, such as video cameras, digital still cameras, PC cameras, and security cameras. It accepts the output directly from a CCD array, provides the necessary signal conditioning for accurate video signal conversion from analog-to-digital format, and performs correlated double sampling to extract the video information from the pixels. It also features analog control of 0 dB to 34 dB gain for varying illumination conditions and black level clamping for an accurate black reference. The device operates from 2.7 to 3.6 vdc and consumes just 120 mW at 3V. A power-down mode consumes just 10 mW.
