The MAX3000E, MAX3001E and MAX3002 to MAX3012 bi-/uni- directional, octal logic-level translation ICs operate at 20 Mb/s and promise to replace up to 10 discrete components and to allow ASICs with supply voltages down to 1.2V to communicate with 5.5V

The MAX3000E, MAX3001E and MAX3002 to MAX3012 bi-/uni- directional, octal logic-level translation ICs operate at 20 Mb/s and promise to replace up to 10 discrete components and to allow ASICs with supply voltages down to 1.2V to communicate with 5.5V peripherals. Based on the Human Body Model, the MAX3000E and MAX3001E feature ±15 kV ESD protection on the I/O Vcc pins. Each translator in the series consumes 0.1 µA of quiescent current and includes a shutdown mode in which the I/O pins enter a high-impedance state. The MAX3000E features a slew-rate-limited driver that translates data at rates up to 230 Kb/s. Also slew-rate limited, the MAX3001E operates up to 4 Mb/s and MAX3002 to MAX3012 at up to 35 Mb/s. The devices are available in a 4 x 5 UCSP or 20-pin TSSOP packages with prices starting at $1.60 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
