CVBS/S Reconstruction Filter/Buffer Supports All SDTV Formats
The MAX7453, a three-channel video reconstruction filter and buffer for Y/C (S-video) and CVBS video signal applications, supports all SDTV video formats, allowing users to turn two system-on-a-chip DAC outputs into three video outputs. For reconstructing the DAC output, each channel employs a lowpass filter and video buffer capable of driving one or two 150W loads with a 2 Vp-p signal into either an ac- or dc-coupled load. A CVBS summer totals the Y and C video inputs to produce a composite video output. Optimized for NTSC and PAL SDTV systems, the device suits DAC-reconstruction digital video applications such as set-top boxes, personal video recorders, hard-disk recorders, and DVD players. Other features include a flat frequency response, 42-dB stopband attenuation at 27 MHz, and +6-dB output buffers. Available in an eight-pin SO package, the chip operates from a 5V supply and in temperatures from 0°C to +70°C. Prices start at $1.26 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
