Seventeen 3- to 4-GHz PECL and LVPECL devices have joined the ECL Pro portfolio of communications logic devices. They operate down to 2.5 V on a single supply and are guaranteed over the −40°C to 85°C temperature range. The parts include clock fanout buffers, clock dividers, drivers/receivers, and translators. The fanout buffer family (SY10/100EP11, EP111, and EP210) features a 30% to 50% improvement in critical ac-timing parameters compared to the previous ECLinPS Lite family. These devices offer a guaranteed maximum frequency of over 3 GHz, pin-to-pin skew of less than 20 ps, and tr/tf time of less than 180 ps over temperature. Pricing for the new devices in 8-pin SOIC or 8-pin MSOP packages starts at $3.96 each in 1000-unit quantities. In 32-lead TQFP packages, devices start at $7.34 each in similar quantities. Samples are available now.
