Promising to ease analog interface design chores, the dual-input TB1305FG and three-input TB1308FG analog video front-end processors perform component-video switching and pre-processing for a/d converters. Both integrate input terminals for YCbCr or RGB signals, a selector switch with one output terminal, automatic synchronization processor, real-time format detector supporting formats up to 1,080p and UXGA, a/d converter pre-filter, and a proprietary dummy HD/VD output for picture stabilization in the absence of a video input. Other common features include a 4.2 MHz to 31 MHz variable pre-filter, automatic synchronization, and support for I2C bus control. In lead-free, pin-compatible QFP48 packages, prices for the TB1305FG and TB1308FG are $3 and $3.25 each/10,000. TOSHIBA AMERICA ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS INC., Irvine, CA. (949) 623-2900.
