Designed to meet the demanding requirements of both professional and consumer markets, the AK4556 24-bit 3V stereo CODEC contains an integrated ADC and DAC that specify a dynamic performance of 103 dB and 106 dB, respectively. The chip, which is the newest addition to the company's Audio4pro family, also supports sampling rates up to 216 kHz, making it well suited for professional variable pitch applications. Operating voltage of the chip ranges from 2.4V to 3.6V at fs = 8 to 108 kHz and 2.7V to 3.6V at fs = 108 to 216 kHz. Power dissipation at fs = 48 kHz is just 82 mW. The digital audio interface supports MSB-justified and I2S formats for the ADC output, and MSB-justified, LSB-justified, and I2S formats for the DAC input. Additionally, the FIR filter has a group delay of 21/fs, independent of the sampling rate. Available in a 20-pin TSSOP, price starts at $1.91 each/10,000. AKM SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA.
