Embarking as the first active HDMI switch supporting video-data transfer rates up to 3.4 Gb/s, the STDVE003A supports full 16-bit color depth for a true HD picture. The device integrates an equalizer to compensate for longer, greater than 20m cables. It is an active digital multiplexer for transition minimized differential signaling data transfers. Configured as a 3:1 switch, the chip handles as many as three input ports while using a single HDMI receiver chip. Based on the company's advanced BiCMOS6G SiGe process technology, it complies with the latest HDMI specification, version 1.3. The device also supports Display Data Channel and Hot-Plug Detect data switching and provides a 50-Ohm input termination. Available in a TQFP80L package, price is $1.50 each/100,000.
