The MAX4951BE, a dual-channel buffer designed to redrive eSATA/SATA signals, handles data rates up to 6 Gb/s and extends battery life with two power-saving modes

The MAX4951BE, a dual-channel buffer designed to redrive eSATA/SATA signals, handles data rates up to 6 Gb/s and extends battery life with two power-saving modes. The device preserves signal integrity at the receiver by reestablishing full output levels and it can reduce total system jitter by squaring the signal. Selectable pre emphasis and programmable equalization allow the signal to be redriven across long traces, thereby increasing layout flexibility. The device also includes ±8 kV (HBM) ESD protection on all pins and it operates from a single 3.3V supply. Available in a 20-pin, 4 mm x 4 mm TQFN package, prices start at $1.50 each/1,000.
