ADCs Extend Battery Life

July 19, 2010
The MAX11102 family of ADCs includes nine devices available in different resolutions (12-/10-/8-bit), channel-counts (2/1), and conversion rates (3/2 Msamples/s).

With a maximum power consumption of 9.9 mw, said to be 32% lower than comparable devices, the MAX11102 family of ADCs includes nine devices available in different resolutions (12-/10-/8-bit), channel-counts (2/1), and conversion rates (3/2 Msamples/s). They are said to be the only ADCs in this class able to operate from a supply rail down to 2.2V. Fast wake-up and shutdown times enable them to operate in burst mode, which minimizes the amount of time spent in active power mode. Other features include a SNR of 70.5d B, SINAD of 70dB, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Prices start at $0.85 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
