RS-485 Transceivers Achieve 20 Mb/s

Dec. 21, 2011
The LTC2862-2865 family of high-voltage tolerant RS-485/-422 transceivers support fast 20-Mb/s and low-EMI slew-rate-limited 250-kb/s data rates and includes both half- and full-duplex versions.

The LTC2862-2865 family of high-voltage tolerant RS-485/-422 transceivers support fast 20-Mb/s and low-EMI slew-rate-limited 250-kb/s data rates and includes both half- and full-duplex versions. They feature ±60V overvoltage fault protection on the data transmission lines. Other features include an extended ±25V input common-mode range, full failsafe operation, and the ability to withstand ±15 kV (HBM and IEC-1000-4-2 air discharge) on the transceiver pins without latchup or damage; all other pins are protected to ±8kV HBM. Pricing starts at $2.35 each for the 20-Mb/s half-duplex versions each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
