The AX88179 debuts as the first USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet controller integrating USB 3.0 PHY and 10/100/1000 Gb Ethernet MAC/PHY in a single chip.

The AX88179 debuts as the  first USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet controller integrating USB 3.0 PHY and 10/100/1000 Gb Ethernet MAC/PHY in a single chip. The device is viable for any embedded system with a USB host microcontroller requiring a twisted pair physical network connection. It also integrates Gigabit Ethernet MAC and PHY (IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u and IEEE802.3ab compatible) and requires one 25-MHz crystal to drive the USB and Ethernet PHYs. Available in an 8 mm x 8 mm 68-pin QFN package, the AX88179 is lead-free, RoHS compliant, and supports a commercial temperature range. ASIX Electronics Corp., Hsinchu, Taiwan. 886-3-5799500.
