Forecasting lower power consumption while raising performance, Texas Instruments offers 10 signal conditioners that drive high-speed interface standards such as 10G/40G/100G Ethernet, 10G-KR (802.3ap), InfiniBand, Fibre Channel and CPRI.  Using the company’s BiCMOS SiGe technology, the devices allegedly deliver the industry's highest signal-reach performance at less than 6 mW/Gb. Features of the DS1xxDF410, DS1xxRT410 and DS100KRxxx signal-conditioner families include reach to exceed 50+ inches of FR-4 backplane or 20 meters of 26-AWG copper cable, 36-dB input EQ and 12-dB output de-emphasis, multi-tap decision feedback equalizers, clock and data recovery with internal clock synthesis, fully adaptive EQ, eye monitor and PRBS generator, and single-supply operation without external RF chokes. In an array of packages, pricing for the ICs ranges from $9.95 to $18 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
