32-Bit MCUs Include True Low Power And USB Connectivity

    April 22, 2013
MCUs feature True Low Power along with fast wake up, zero wait state flash, multiple safety functions and integrated USB 2.0 host.

The RX111 Group, the first MCUs in Renesas’ new RX100 Series, features True Low Power along with fast wake up, zero wait state flash, multiple safety functions and integrated USB 2.0 host. The MCUs are designed to support low-end 32-bit embedded applications including mobile healthcare, smart meters, sensors/detectors, and industrial and building automation. True Low Power capability offers the lowest possible power consumption across the entire temperature and voltage range, including all peripherals and Flash memory. Featuring 32 MHz operating speeds and 1.56 Dhrystone MIPS (DMIPS)/MHz throughput, the MCUs also offer three run modes, three low power modes and a flexible clock system. Analog functions include a 12-bit ADC with internal voltage reference, an 8-bit DAC and a temperature sensor. Pin counts range from 36 to 64 and 16 to 128 KB embedded flash memory is included with a roadmap to higher memory. Samples of the RX111 devices are available now. Mass production is scheduled for Sept. 2013 with prices ranging from $1.89 each/1,000 for a 64 KB Flash, 48-pin configuration to $2.34 each/1,000 for a 128KB Flash, 64-pin configuration.
