SPI Serial Flash Memory Devices Operate From 1.65 to 1.95 V

SPI Flash memory devices offer 2-, 4- and 8-Mbit of memory, a low-operating voltage range from 1.65 V to 1.95 V, low-power consumption, small-footprint, and low-profile packaging.

Microchip’s SST25WF020A, SST25WF040B and SST25WF080B SPI Flash memory devices expand upon their Serial Flash 25 Series, offering 2-, 4- and 8-Mbit of memory, a low-operating voltage range from 1.65 V to 1.95 V, low-power consumption, small-footprint, and low-profile packaging. Manufactured with Microchip’s high-performance CMOS SuperFlash technology and NOR Flash cell architecture, the new Flash memory devices are especially suited for battery-operated accessories, portable medical devices, and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Memory is partitioned into uniform 4 kB sectors and 64 kB blocks, erasing the 4 kB sectors as fast as 40 ms, the 64 kB blocks as fast as 80 ms, and the entire Flash memory chip in 300 ms. The devices offer a reliability of 100,000 endurance cycles, typical, and greater than 20 years of data retention. Active read current is 4 mA, typical, at 40 MHz, and standby current is 4 µA, typical. Available today for sampling and volume production, the SST25WF020A, SST25WF040B and SST25WF080B SPI Flash memory devices are priced starting at $0.49 each/10,000. Package offerings include an 8-pin USON (2 x 3 mm) and and 8-lead SOIC (150 mils).
