Single-Core MCUs Enable Precision Feedback In Control Design
TI’s C2000 Delfino TMS320F2837xS 32-bit single-core MCU series, an industry first to include four 16-bit ADCs, enables precision feedback for real-time industrial power control design. Pin- and software-compatible with the recently introduced dual-core C2000 Delfino F2837xD MCUs, the new single-core models help expedite development when scaling from higher performance industrial control applications, such as variable speed drives, frequency inverters, power converters and renewable energy, to mid-tier control designs. A powerful combination of C28x and real-time control accelerator provides a combined 400 MIPS of floating-point performance, enabling management of multiple control tasks simultaneously. The C28x CPU is further accelerated for trigonometry and complex math operations. Fully featured C2000 Delfino TMS320F28377S 32-bit MCUs are now sampling. Variants in this generation, with different memory and peripheral mixes, include the TMS320F28376S, TMS320F28375S and TMS320F28374S configurations, which will start at $11.34 each/1,000. Developers can evaluate the new MCUs using the Delfino F2837xD Experimenter Kit docking station (TMDXDOCK28377D) for $219, which includes the modular Delfino controlCARD (TMDXCNCD28377D), or the controlCARD can be purchased separately for $159.
