Gearing up for high-density, high-speed desktop computing, the EDD5108ADTA 512 Mb DDR400 SDRAM devices outfit the EBD11UD8ADFB and EBD11ED8ADFB 1 GB, non-buffered DIMMs. The 512 Mb devices are manufactured using the company's 0.11 µm process technology, organized as 64-million words by eight bits in TSOPs and operating at 200 MHz. Promising significantly shorter access, array activation, and pre-charge times, the devices achieve latencies of both 3-3-3 and 3-4-4. Taking advantage of these DDR400 components, the two JEDEC-standard, 184-pin 1 GB PC3200 modules are organized as 128-million words by 64 and 72 bits by two ranks and feature 2.6V, ±0.1V operation. The DIMMs deliver data-transfer rates up to 3.2 GB/s and have a programmable CAS latency of 3 and burst lengths of two, four, and eight. The modules are also available in a non-buffered, x72 configuration that supports ECC. ELPIDA MEMORY INC., Santa Clara, CA. (866) 355-8296.
