Audio IP Suite Gears For Next Gen Devices

Oct. 1, 2001

Next generation Internet appliances, portable audio players, set-top boxes, and automotive audio systems are targeted applications for the company's Audio IP Suite. Designed to speed SoC development of 16-bit audio subsystems based on SP-3 and/or SP-5 DSP cores, the software promises to reduce final product cost in terms of both silicon and development time. An audio firmware library is provided, including decode facilities for MPEG Layer I and II, MP3, AC-3 and AAC audio standards and a package of post processing capabilities for sample rate conversion, equalization, reverb and other audio functions. Licensing fees begin at $20,000. 3DSP CORP., Irvine, CA. (949) 435-0600.
