A pair of 1-GHz PowerPC 7447 processors squeeze onto the compact, conduction-cooled or air-cooled PMC-106 PCI mezzanine card (PMC). The 7447s are Altivec-enabled, enabling them to plow through arrays of data. Each processor has a 64-kbyte level 1 cache and a 512-kbyte level 2 cache. The PMC handles up to 256 Mbytes of double-data-rate SDRAM. A single 10/100/1000-Mbit/s Ethernet interface is incorporated, along with a pair of high-speed serial ports and six digital I/O pins. Among the operating systems are Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, and Timesys Linux. Software support also includes the company's IXLibs-AV DSP function library. The PMC-106 costs $4000.
